Depression is an issue that can affect how you think, feel and handle daily activities. It goes beyond the normal ups and downs that people experience in everyday life. Depression is a characterized by feelings of sadness, hopelessness, a lack of interest or pleasure in activities, sleep changes and appetite changes.

There are many reasons people become depressed. Situational depression can be caused by; feeling out of control, recent or past losses, unexpected transitions or unexpressed emotions. A chemical depression can occur due to genetics, nutrition or environmental factors. It is useful for you to know that if you are experiencing depression it is very important to get help. If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of depression, getting support is a crucial step toward recovery.
